Press Operator

Location: Gardner, MA
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour + Shift Differential
Schedule: Full-Time | 2nd & 3rd Shift Opportunities

Seaman Paper has been manufacturing in Massachusetts since 1946. Today, we're a growing global manufacturer of sustainable specialty paper and packaging solutions.

We're looking for a Press Operator who takes pride in producing quality work, enjoys working with machinery, and wants to be part of a team that keeps production moving. If you have printing or manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate printing presses according to job specifications and production schedules.
  • Perform efficient and safe press changeovers.
  • Prepare inks, plates, anilox rolls, and other materials before each production run.
  • Monitor print quality, including registration, color accuracy, ink viscosity, and print clarity.
  • Make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and meet job specifications.
  • Complete production records, quality checks, and required data entry.
  • Perform routine press maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Work with supervisors and coworkers to resolve issues and keep production moving.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including OSHA standards and proper PPE.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience in printing, manufacturing, or production.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working around machinery.
  • Ability to read and follow production orders, job specifications, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately distinguish colors.
  • Basic computer skills for production and quality data entry.
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Two or more years of printing or print manufacturing experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing position. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, bending, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs, and working around continuous machine noise. Employees must be able to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and safely work around operating machinery.
