Pay: $32.00–$38.00 per hour + Shift Differential
Schedule: Full-Time | 2nd Shift 3:00pm - 11:00pm

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team in Orange, MA. You'll play a critical role in keeping production equipment operating safely and efficiently by troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving industrial machinery.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose and repair a wide variety of converting and manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Repair and maintain gearboxes, drive systems, web handling equipment, pneumatic brakes, edge guides, dryer systems, burner controls, print cylinders, and other production machinery.
  • Remove, replace, and rebuild worn or damaged machine components.
  • Perform welding, machining, and fabrication of parts, machine guards, brackets, and custom components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Inspect machinery and equipment to ensure it operates at required specifications.
  • Use basic electrical knowledge to complete routine electrical repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with Engineering on new equipment installations and production upgrades.
  • Support spare parts management and maintenance inventory control.
  • Use the CMMS system to document work orders and maintenance activities.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and follow all safety requirements.
  • Participate in safety inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior maintenance technicians.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics and prints.
  • Ability to understand OEM manuals, technical documentation, and maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing electrical controls and automated equipment.
  • Strong mechanical problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment.
  • Welding and machining experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and safety-focused.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is a hands-on maintenance position. The role requires working throughout a manufacturing facility, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, reaching, and working around operating machinery.

The position requires the ability to:

  • Stand, walk, climb stairs, and work throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, machinery, and maintenance equipment.
  • Work safely around moving machinery and production equipment.
  • Safely operate company vehicles and equipment as required.
